Smith & Wesson Warranty Statement

The federal Magnuson-Moss Act (the "Act") does not require any business to provide a written warranty. The Act allows businesses to determine whether to warrant their products in writing. However, once a business decides to offer a written warranty on a consumer product, it must comply with the Act. Rather than trying to comply with the various provisions of the Act, Smith & Wesson Corp. has simply decided not to provide any written warranty for the products offered for sale on this website (excluding Smith & Wesson restraint (handcuff) products, which have a Limited Warranty). You may have other rights, such as implied warranties, that vary from state to state.

It is our intent that the customer be completely satisfied with the products on this website. Please contact our customer service department with any questions or concerns you may have regarding the products on this website. All liability is excluded in the event that applicable product warnings and instructions are not observed. Smith & Wesson Corp. reserves the right to make changes at any time and without notice, in prices, to change specifications or designs, to add or remove accessory materials, and to add or delete items without incurring any obligation.

Limited 1-Year Warranty – Accessory Products

Smith & Wesson Corp.® brand accessory products available from Battenfeld Technologies, Inc.® (BTI) are warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase.  Any such defects for which BTI receives written notice by the original retail purchaser will be remedied within a reasonable time after such notification and delivery of the covered products as provided herein.  BTI will, at its option, repair or replace without charge, except for transportation costs, covered products that are defective in either materials or workmanship that have been used and maintained in accordance with the provided instructions.

Warranty claims (in writing) and the product or part thereof concerned should be delivered, postage prepaid, to BTI at Battenfeld Technologies Inc. 2501 Lemone Industrial Blvd, Columbia, MO 65201.  In addition, a copy of the bill of sale indicating date of purchase must be included.  Please include your physical address, phone number and email address.

BTI will not be responsible for defects or malfunctions resulting from careless handling, unauthorized adjustments or modifications, defective or improper ammunition and/or propellant, corrosion, neglect, abuse, ordinary wear and tear, or unreasonable use, commercial use, criminal misuse, negligence, or use under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL BTI BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WITH RESPECT TO ECONOMIC LOSS, INJURY, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, WHETHER AS A RESULT OF BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY, NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of implied warranties and/or incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.


LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY Non-Firearms Products – U.S.

THIS LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY (the “Warranty”) is granted by Battenfeld
Technologies Inc. (“BTI”) This Warranty is effective from the date of purchase for the
lifetime of the original retail purchaser of any knife or cutlery product under Schrade®,
Old Timer®, Uncle Henry®, ImperialTM, Smith & Wesson® or M&P® brands (the
“Product(s)”). In order to be eligible for service or replacement under this Warranty, the
original retail purchaser (the “Buyer”) must return a completed authorized warranty card,
or register online at http://www.btibrands.com/contact within thirty (30) days of purchase
of such Product. With respect to such Product, this Warranty supersedes any and all other
warranties.

Products are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship. Any such
defects of which BTI receives written notice by the Buyer will be remedied without charge
within a reasonable time after such notification and delivery of the Product as provided
below.

MAKING A CLAIM

Completed Warranty Claim Form (available at http://www.btibrands.com/warranty) and
the Product concerned should be delivered, postage prepaid, to BTI at:

Warranty claims should state the model and, where applicable, the lot number of the
Product concerned and the description of the difficulty or defect experienced. It is
recommended that shipments be insured by the owner, since BTI will accept no
responsibility for loss or damage in transit. Transportation and insurance charges for return
to the Buyer will be paid by BTI if the claim is covered by this Warranty.

WORK NOT COVERED

If the work required is not covered by our “Limited Lifetime Warranty” you will receive a
quotation for repair or replacement which must be authorized by you. No actual work will
be done without your approval. Return shipments can be shipped via UPS, FedEx or mail
at your cost. Repaired or replaced Product will be shipped back to you via FedEx requiring
an adult signature upon receipt.

LIMITATION ON DAMAGES

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL BTI BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INCIDENTAL
OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WITH RESPECT TO ECONOMIC LOSS,
INJURY, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, WHETHER AS A RESULT OF
BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY, NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
EXCEPTIONS

BTI WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR, AND THE WARRANTY SHALL NOT
APPLY FOR:

  • DEFECTS OR MALFUNCTIONS RESULTING FROM CARELESS HANDLING,
    UNAUTHORIZED ADJUSTMENTS OR MODIFICATIONS MADE OR
    ATTEMPTED BY ANYONE OTHER THAN BTI, OR FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE
    INSTRUCTIONS IN SAFETY & INSTRUCTION MANUALS THAT WERE
    PROVIDED WITH THE PRODUCT FROM THE FACTORY.
  • CORROSION, NEGLECT, ABUSE, ORDINARY WEAR AND TEAR, OR
    UNREASONABLE USE WHETHER SUCH PRODUCT WAS PURCHASED
    EITHER DIRECTLY FROM BTI OR FROM A DEALER/ DISTRIBUTOR.
  • USE OF REPLACEMENT PARTS OTHER THAN FACTORY OR AUTHORIZED
    PARTS.
  • CRIMINAL MISUSE OR NEGLIGENCE RELATED TO SUCH PRODUCT.
    RELEASE, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, WAIVER & INDEMNITY

By purchasing any item manufactured or distributed by BTI, the Buyer assumes
responsibility to ascertain and follow all applicable federal, state and local laws or
regulations in owning, carrying, having, shipping, transporting and using any BTI Product.
The Buyer expressly agrees to indemnify and hold harmless BTI for all claims resulting
directly or indirectly from the ownership, purchase, transportation or use of the Product in
violation of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
You must be eighteen (18) years of age to purchase certain Products (knives, blades, etc.).

RIGHTS OF THE BUYER

This Warranty gives you the Buyer specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights
which vary from state to state.
